ALNICO BUTTON MAGNETS
Powerful alnico magnets have convenient mounting holes and are available in three strengths. Add an eyebolt and string or cord to retrieve small metal items in swimming pools, window wells, crawl spaces and more. Use as work holding devices for welding, wood cutting, sign making and other applications. Each includes metal keeper to retain magnetic strength.

Structure:
Gripper magnets are magnetic systems which have only one adhesive surface due to their structure. No magnetic force is radiated by any of the other surfaces of the gripper magnet body.
This structural form enables the spatial effect of the magnetic field to be limited so that the whole of the part in contact with the gripper magnets or the machine parts surrounding the gripper magnets are not magnetised.
Structural forms:
Round-bar gripper magnets of the series have a core of AlNiCo permanently magnetised material which for purposes of magnetic screening is in a pot of soft iron encased in a sleeve of a nonmagnetic material.
The ceramic permanent magnet material is used for flat gripper magnets of the series A pot of soft iron also provides for the required magnetic screening in this case.
Adhesive forces:
The adhesive forces specified in the tables are minimum values, which are achieved with the magnets having a vertical shear and full surface contact with work pieces of sufficient strength in soft iron or lowcarbon steel.
Air spaces form where the pole surfaces are unclean, as a result of which the adhesive force is greatly reduced. It is recommended that a clean pole surface be assured and the should be cleaned from time to time.
