Cartridge Magnets
HSMAG Cartridge Magnets, which are also known as Magnetic Rods or Tubes, are used to remove ferrous contaminants, such as nuts and bolts, from a product flow passing directly over the surface of the magnet. The various high strength models available mean that Bunting Magnetics can offer a solution to capture ferrimagnetic and ferromagnetic materials as well as some paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials.
These magnets are available in either Ceramic, Alnico, Neodymium Rare Earth or Neodymium High-Intensity Rare Earth Temperature Compensated models. Standard models are constructed from 304 stainless steel or 316 stainless steel for sanitary installations, with a standard Cartridge diameter of 25mm (1 inch). Heavy-Duty Cartridge Magnets are also available which are designed for use where high flow rates or bridging may occur. These 38mm (1.5 inch) square Cartridges or Rods offer superior reach and nearly two times the magnetic surface area of standard cylindrical Cartridges.
Cartridge Magnets, which are available with plain or tapped ends and in various lengths, can easily be installed into processing equipment, or are very often used as inspection tools. They are also the main component for a variety of other Bunting Magnetic Separators such as Grate Magnets and Magnetic Traps.
Due to the wide array of Cartridge types available it is advised to make best use of Bunting's Technical team to help select the best model for the materials, flow rates, and types of ferrous contaminants involved in your application.
